100 Thieves Academy sign 2018 Scouting Grounds winners

100 Thieves Academy sign 2018 Scouting Grounds winners

100 Thieves have announced that they have acquired four players from the Scouting Grounds’ Team Mountain for their Academy team in 2019.

The organization signed almost the entirety of Team Mountain’s roster in the 2018 North American Scouting Grounds. The missing player, Colin “Call Lin” Ting Hin Wong, has joined Counter Logic Gaming’s academy squad, and William “Stunt” Chen has taken his place at 100 Thieves instead. The roster (including the LCS lineup) is as follows:

Team Mountain’s success story can continue in the North American Academy League. Indeed, the team impressed onlookers at the Scouting Grounds, looking dominant throughout the entire event and winning it outright. In fact, their top pick, FakeGod, lifted the Elder Dragon trophy for the top prospect from the event and drew praise from several community figures, including ESPN Esports writer Tyler “Fionn” Erzberger (full article in the link). In addition, their bot laner, Prismal, has won two Scouting Grounds in a row.

The move follows Kelsey Moser’s signing as 100 Thieves’ Academy Director and Head Coach. Following the signing, the organization was free to sign players with high upside. Indeed, Kelsey Moser has guided players through their development within H2K Gaming in 2018. Should FakeGod blossom into an LCS-ready top laner, and should other players also garner attention around the league, her reputation as a talent developer would be cemented.
