Ad Hoc Gaming assemble strong roster in DACH: Hjärnan, Klaj in

Ad Hoc Gaming have announced their League of Legends roster ahead of the 2019 season. The roster is set to dominate the DACH circuit and will compete in the Premier Tour and at the ESL Meisterschaft.

Ad Hoc Gaming pack serious firepower, judging by their bot lane alone. Indeed, Hjärnan has recently reached the World Championship semifinals as a member of G2 Esports, and he paid the price for PerkZ’s role swap to the bot lane. He is also one of the most game-savvy players in Europe. Alongside Klaj and in this lineup, he may return to being a primary voice within a team.

His teammates are no slouches either. In fact, Klaj has built a solid resume in the Challenger circuit since his LEC days, and he recently played at Movistar Riders. There, he nearly reached the SuperLiga Orange summer finals, but MAD Lions shocked the Spanish scene with a 3-2 upset.

The bot lane joins Xioh and Phones ahead of the 2019 season. The solo laners were already in AHG, although Xioh has been there the longest. Ad Hoc (formerly known as Mysterious Monkeys) were among the best teams in Germany during the spring and summer seasons. The team even participated in the 2018 European Masters spring tournament and reached the main event.

However, their successful ways ended abruptly after a number of roster changes, with their fifth place in the ESL Meisterschaft Winter round robin. The matter led to them missing the playoffs, which was a huge upset. Indeed, their loss against DIVIZION in the final week of action helped their opponents avoid relegation.

The team’s roster changes wouldn’t stop there, as Lukas “Lurox” Thoma has since joined FC Schalke 04 Esports’ academy squad. As a result, the team hired the well-traveled Kadir, a fixture in the Challenger scene. In fact, Kadir recently won the ESL Proximus 2018 (Benelux) title on Team DefuseKids, alongside Marcel “Scarlet” Wiederhofer.

Overall, the roster constitutes a threat to both academy teams (Schalke 04’s and SK Gaming‘s). It also constitutes a threat to top DACH teams mousesports and EURONICS Gaming, both finalists at the ESL Meisterschaft 2018 Winter tournament. All in all, Ad Hoc became the team to watch in the DACH circuit overnight, especially considering Hjärnan’s in-game leadership.
