ADD joins BiliBili Gaming for 2019, replaces AmazingJ

BiliBili Gaming have signed former Team MVP top laner Kang “ADD” Geon-mo to their 2019 LPL lineup. The player replaces Shek “AmazingJ” Wai Ho on the lineup following the latter’s decision to go on hiatus.

ADD’s versatility should allow him to fit in quickly on a gameplay standpoint. Although MVP struggled in 2018, he showcased solid performances on conventional champions (such as Ornn and Aatrox) and unconventional ones (e.g.: Singed, Gragas). Whether he will grow into a rock solid top laner for BLG remains uncertain.

ADD’s signing allows BiliBili Gaming to tend to their other lanes, although they find themselves in a potentially quirky situation. In 2018, the team featured three imports: jungler Lee “Chieftain” Jae-yub, mid laner Kang “Athena” Ha-woon, and support Yun “Road” Han-gil. Should they sign Athena again, a similar situation will emerge.

Indeed, Road has been a permanent fixture on their 2018 lineup. As such, the team juggled with lineup combinations, involving Chinese jungler Chen “M1anhua” Jia-Hao and mid laner Li “Mole” Hao-Yan. Two combinations emerged throughout the year: Chieftain-Mole, and M1anhua-Athena. However, the team failed to reach the LPL regional qualifier. In 2019, the juggle situation is unlikely to involve the jungle as BLG signed LDL talent Zeng “Meteor” Guo-Hao for 2019. Still, Athena remains a possible hire.

ADD joins a team in need of firepower in the top lane, as AmazingJ left BiliBili Gaming and is on hiatus. AmazingJ wished to be closer to his fans and is looking forward to streaming more, according to a message he wrote on Weibo. As such, he will not be playing during the 2019 LPL spring split.
