DLim joins FC Schalke 04 Esports as assistant coach
David “DLim” Lim has joined FC Schalke 04 Esports as their assistant coach, the team revealed on Twitter. In doing so, he bolsters the coaching staff’s ability to develop emerging talent and bolsters it on a strategic aspect.
DLim arrives from Clutch Gaming, a team he coached to the 2018 NA LCS spring playoffs and through its brief regional gauntlet run. He also has a lengthy history looking after Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin as the latter arrived to North America.
After starting his career as an analyst, DLim made an impression on Team Liquid and joined them full-time. After nearly qualifying to the LCS on Team Liquid Academy, he moved to the LCS lineup to work alongside Jang “Cain” Nu-ri. However, the team underwent several roster changes as it wasn’t clicking on Summoners’ Rift, and he was unable to parlay hard work to results. The latter changed when he became Clutch Gaming’s head coach.
DLim joins Dylan Falco’s coaching staff in FC Schalke 04 Esports. His new team is full of up-and-coming talent, with Felix “Abbedagge” Braun, Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi and Elias “Upset” Lipp headline the show. Considering his experience, Schalke 04 may become lethal down the line. However, considering their opposition, one may expect contention for anything beyond a playoff spot to take a while.
