Finn, Larssen, Blumigan join Rogue Academy

Finn, Larssen, Blumigan join Rogue Academy

Finn “Finn” Wiestål, Emil “Larssen” Larsson and Marcus “Blumigan” Blom have joined Rogue’s Academy squad. The team is set to play in the Polish Ultraliga for the 2019 season.

The three signings are the first ones that Rogue have made official regarding their Academy team. The two players and the head coach have a wealth of experience in the European Regional Leagues. The matter makes their arrival in the Polish Ultraliga all the more interesting.

The three hires are familiar with one another. Blumigan and Larssen have worked together at Ninjas in Pyjamas, and they reached the finals of the 2018 European Masters summer split, losing to MAD Lions E.C. 0-3. This was not Larssen’s first time at the European Masters’ main event, as he competed alongside Finn during the spring split, falling against Origen 1-2.

The three signings experienced a high level of competition throughout their respective journeys. Indeed, Blumigan coached Royal Bandits to a second-place finish during the TCL winter season, then Diabolus Esports to a second-place finish at the Forge of Champions summer season. On the other hand, Larssen played on H2K Gaming after the team’s playoff hopes had vanished, and he showed LEC-caliber prowess. As for Finn, he played on a number of lineups, most notably on Ninjas in Pyjamas and Movistar Riders, two lineups that made noise in their respective leagues.

The arrivals of Finn and Larssen leave much promise regarding their prospects down the line. Indeed, they (especially Larssen) have a shot at competing for a starting spot in the LEC roster. As such, Rogue could field a seven-man roster during the LEC summer split should the situation call for it. Here is a quick refresher on Rogue’s roster:

In the meantime, the organization has yet to announce its jungler, bot laner and support for the Academy lineup, but rumors abound regarding the signings. Should those rumors be true, the lineup looks strong for the European Masters, rather than the Ultraliga alone.
