Gogoing rejoins Oh My God (OMG) as their strategic coach
Gao “Gogoing” Di-ping has returned to Oh My God (OMG) as their strategic coach. The team announced the news on Weibo after adding him to their coaching staff.
In doing so, Gogoing returns to the only team he has known in League of Legends after a three-year absence. Indeed, the player spent his entire career on the team, from May 2012 until Sept. 2015. Throughout his career, he reached the World Championship in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In the process, he helped assert OMG as one of the top squads in the world.
However, OMG’s era of consistency faded in 2015 as several players dipped in form, with Gogoing’s being the most noticeable one. Following the team’s inability to reach the Regional Qualifiers, he retired and faded from the professional scene. The former player remained a prominent member of the Chinese League of Legends community as a streamer. He also participated in the Return of the Legends showmatch where he faced former opponents across the world, most of which had retired.
Gogoing’s return comes after OMG (1W-3L) faced two of the strongest teams in the league, Invictus Gaming and Topsports Gaming, as well as newcomers Victory Five. As such, his help could come in handy in turning the tide for the team.
