Jarge, Unlimited join exceL Esports’ coaching staff

exceL Esports have announced on social media that Joshua “Jarge” Smith and Petar “Unlimited” Georgiev have joined their coaching staff. Jarge joins as their strategic coach, and Unlimited takes over the academy’s coaching duties.

The team has bolstered its coaching staff, which relied upon Josh “Furndog” Furneaux and Jon “Just Jon” Ellis during the 2018 ESL Premiership spring split and the Forge of Champions’ first season. However, the size of the roster and the team’s needs on a coaching front have increased as exceL combined a 10-man roster, with part of it competing in the LEC. Speaking of which, the team had gradually announced their roster’s substitutes, and you can see the full roster below:

The signings of Jarge and Unlimited bring a huge strategic punch to the LCS and Academy squads. Indeed, Jarge’s resume speaks for itself, with two LCS finals on two different teams. During his time in North America, Team SoloMid and Team Liquid showed good form, even when they met setbacks along the way. In fact, Team Liquid won the 2018 spring split with him in tow.

On top of that, Unlimited has returned to coaching, taking care of the Academy squad’s strategies. The former professional support player coached Misfits Academy (later Mysterious Monkeys) in 2017, and occupied a similar position within Team Vitality’s academy squad. The move represents a natural progression as he shifts away from a playing career, and as Furndog and Just Jon oversee his growth.

exceL Esports’ academy squad is undetermined at this time, as the team has a 10-man roster in tow. There is a real possibility that the lineup would change on a weekly basis if they are to follow Cloud9’s example.
