LokeN joins Topsports Gaming, completes 2019 LPL roster
Topsports Gaming have announced that they have signed bot laner Lee “LokeN” Dong-wook on Nov. 26. The team published the transaction on its Weibo page.
Topsports close their most important offseason signings with the acquisition of LokeN. The Korean bot laner was a member of JD Gaming, a squad that made waves during the 2018 summer split. Their resurgence aligned them as favorites for the LPL gauntlet, but EDward Gaming somehow rallied to fend them off 3-2.
LokeN recently faced Topsports before his transfer and beat them in the NEST 2018 event 2-1. The event took place before the transfer season officially began in China and may have influenced TOP to claim him off free agency. He was the most devastating starter in the 2018 LPL summer split with a 6.0 KDA ratio (first among bot lane starters), a 70.7 percent kill participation ratio, and a 13.4 percent death share (lowest among starters).
LokeN joins highly touted mid laner Zhuo “Knight” Ding, who might be the next biggest star at the position. Knight played during the 2018 LPL spring split, but went inactive during the summer due to contractual technicalities. Another young talent, Bai “369” Jia-hao, also joined the team, making it one of the squads with the most upside heading into 2019. The team lacks an experienced member, as Jang “MaRin” Gyeong-hwan, Lei “Corn” Wen and Yu “Ggoong” Byeong-jun have left the organization.
