Odoamne joins FC Schalke 04 Esports

Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu has joined FC Schalke 04 Esports for the 2019 LEC season. The team announced the news on their social media channels.

With this signing, Odoamne’s free agency has officially ended, and so has Schalke 04’s. For Odoamne, the position comes with leadership on the line. Indeed, he has two up-and-coming players on the lineup alongside Elias “Upset” Lipp and Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun. The team’s full lineup is as follows:

The top laner pointed out Memento and IgNar’s sense of initiative as points of emphasis in Schalke 04’s announcement. In contrast with Splyce, he noted their trigger happiness as a strength, as there would be no shortage of opportunities created across the map. However, he also pointed out how the aggressive mindset could backfire, and the importance of tuning it.

He has assumed a similar role within Splyce (with Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir and Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer) on the lineup, but had endured moments when the team sacrificed its top lane to develop the rest of the team. That was specifically to develop their playmaking and communication sense. In the end, the team nearly reached the World Championship, but G2 Esports barred the way in the gauntlet.

The lineup shows promise in the LEC, but so does Rogue’s and exceL’s, their most likely direct competitors. Whether they can catch up to Misfits Gaming, Origen, Team Vitality, G2 Esports and Fnatic is up for debate. However, they have assembled a quality lineup in a very competitive league.
