PoohManDu joins Misfits Gaming as assistant coach
Lee “PoohManDu” Jeong-hyeon has joined Misfits Gaming as their assistant coach for the 2019 season. The former professional player brings World Championship experience to the lineup.
PoohManDu brings a wealth of experience to Misfits’ coaching staff, which Jesse “Jesiz” Le will headline. Indeed, beyond winning the World Championship in 2013 as a player, he transitioned into a solid coaching career. His coaching highlight has been his victory in the 2016 Worlds as a member of SK Telecom T1’s staff.
Throughout his career, PoohManDu nearly helped Young Glory (who had Kim “Profit” Jun-hyung and Song “Fly” Yong-jun on the lineup) qualify to the LPL over Royal Never Give Up in 2016. That is not to dismiss the setbacks he encountered, as he (and ViCi Gaming’s 2017 spring squad) fell into the LSPL in the summer promotion tournament to the roster that later became Topsports Gaming.
Misfits Gaming’s hire of a South Korean assistant coach (alongside GorillA) would have prompted questions regarding communication within the lineup. To that effect, they also hired content creator and translator Hyunseon “Hajinsun” Park to that effect (and for other purposes). All in all, the lineup seems to become even more intriguing by the day. How they will mesh on Summoners’ Rift and outside remains to be seen.
