Schalke 04 to sign Abbedagge, IgNar & Odoamne

FC Schalke 04 Esports are possibly adding Abbedagge, IgNar and Odoamne to their 2019 LEC lineup, according to a report from ESPN’s Jacob Wolf.

The signings would be fairly surprising. On one hand, Felix “Abbedagge” Braun and Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu would replace (potentially) departed players Tamas “Vizicsacsi” Kiss and Erlend “Nukeduck” Holm. On the other hand, the arrival of Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun marks Oskar “VandeR” Bogdan’s end at Schalke 04.

Abbedagge made his mark in the TCL alongside Sergen “Broken Blade” Celik. The two solo laners played on Royal Bandits, reaching second place in both split finals in 2018. However, they were unable to participate at the World Championship, as Lee “GBM” Chang-seok’s SuperMassive eSports blocked the way.

Joining him would be Odoamne in what seems to be a trade of assets with Splyce. Splyce has reportedly contacted Vizicsacsi in a swap of front line specialists. The change would provide a voice to a lineup that desperately needs leadership as Upset and Memento are more mechanically oriented.

The final member, IgNar, has proven his mettle in Europe as a member of the 2017 Misfits Gaming. Since then, he went to bbq Olivers and struggled for two splits in a row in the LCK. The team eventually dropped out of the LCK as DAMWON Gaming and Team BattleComics qualified. He was rumoredly in contact with SK Gaming, but Wolf’s report is indicative of a change on that front.

In doing these moves, Schalke 04 would complete their lineup for 2019. Whether they can develop quickly and hold strong against the like of Misfits Gaming would be uncertain.

Update: Nov. 30 @ 18:30 — Abbedagge is officially on Schalke 04’s roster. The team announced his arrival on social media. IgNar and Odoamne’s whereabouts are still unknown.
