Sheepy joins SK Gaming alongside Realistik for 2019
Fabian “Sheepy” Mallant has joined SK Gaming after five years spent within the Unicorns of Love. His new team announced his arrival to the team alongside Andrei “Realistik” Ruse on Twitter.
Sheepy’s days within the Unicorns of Love have ended when UoL failed to become a LEC franchise. The family company he founded alongside his parents, Jos and Iris Mallant, is now in their hands as he seeks to avoid conflicts of interest. Indeed, SK Gaming and the Unicorns of Love field teams in the DACH circuit’s Premier Tour and ESL Meisterschaft.
As a member of the Unicorns of Love, Sheepy reached two European LCS (now LEC) finals: in the 2015 and 2017 spring splits. He also participated in three Regional Gauntlets, and came close to qualifying to the World Championship in 2016. However, the team’s setback in 2017 led to a rebuilding process after the departures of long-time teammates Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov and Tamas “Vizicsacsi” Kiss.
Sheepy brings an analyst alongside him: Realistik. The analyst made his biggest impact on KlikTech, a Balkan League squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 EU Masters Spring split. Although unknown to the public eye, he has been part of the League of Legends scene since 2013. Initially a player, he dashed his playing career ambitions to study for a computer science degree.
SK Gaming have yet to announce their players ahead of the 2019 LEC season, and they are the only remaining team without a formal roster at the time of publishing. However, there is little doubt that they have finalized it and are taking their time to reveal it.
