SK Gaming reveal full starting lineup for 2019 LEC season
SK Gaming have revealed their full lineup for the 2019 LEC season on social media. The lineup is primarily comprised of former Mad Lions E.C. players.
SK Gaming have a fairly solid core that does not belong in the Regional Leagues. Indeed, Werlyb, Selfmademan and Crownshot crushed their competitors (outside of Origen’s All-Star free agent squad in the spring split, and the team that later became Team Vitality). In fact, they only lost one tournament in 2018: the European Masters’ spring split against Origen, taking them to a 2-1 series.
Although SK is a remixed MAD Lions E.C. on paper, the changes make it a different team altogether. Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek has since joined Fnatic, and Dreams has replaced Jesús “Falco” Pérez Rubio. As an added benefit to having Dreams on the lineup, the team will incorporate Pirean within the lineup.
Had the lineup existed in 2018, it would have been a surefire competitor for the playoff race. However, SK Gaming have a steep climb ahead of them as the LEC gained strength following franchising. Their lineup is currently as promising as exceL Esports, but has tougher challenges on the way to becoming functional. Indeed, beyond the communication issues stemming from the language barrier between Pirean and his teammates, the lineup has three players who have never experienced LEC-level competition.
